Power, how far should it go?

Recent happenings in Pakistan waylay ed my search for the most powerful man in America as you can well understand. There is so much more information connected to it too. So much is going on around the world and right under our noses that we are totally unaware of but suspect at the same time. It's good to take some time and gather it all in before secrecy takes over once again.

The most powerful man in the United States, with only one name is working behind the scenes as you read this. Connecting the dots and making alliances in such a way that reminds me of the process by which somebody wins the Survivor game on TV. The difference is, this guy does things for real and we all reap the rewards or consequences of his efforts. I wonder how we allow him to have so much control over our freedom. In my short life I have seen so many changes it makes my head spin sometimes. That's why I'm trying to chase this guy down, to find out his motivation exactly. For example: Why did he work so hard to take away our social security money, how was that a benefit to those of us who pay into it to help secure our old age? Maybe more importantly, why did we let him?

Death of Osama Bin Ladin

It's been a long time coming, this elimination of a powerful terrorist that ordered the murder of so many innocent people and cost the world so much in money, time and resources. Bin Ladin is finally gone. That doesn't mean we can rest on our laurels though. (Whatever laurels are) Now we have to concentrate on the next terrorist and the next terrorist and so on and so forth because as sure as we are Americans there will be someone wanting to kill us and destroy our way of life and what we stand for.

The stock market is going to do something in response to this news along with the rest of the free world. It's going to be interesting for a few days anyway. For my part I'm going to include an extra prayer or two. I do wonder though just what will happen to Mr. Bin Ladin in his heaven or hell. In my own beliefs I feel that all evil is rewarded by God. No one escapes from the consequences of what they have done. Be it terrorism or a a good deed of some sort, everything has a reward or consequence. We had to get that guy and stop the carnage but I don't have to worry about revenge, it's not my job. I can however, feel real good he's gone. It's been almost ten years we've been chasing him. It's a good day in River City.

Now I can continue my search for the most powerful guy in the U.S.. He's been at it again.

Power over all of us

Oh, My Gosh! The more I look into finding the most powerful person in America, the more I find out about just how powerful he is. So much so that in the past few years alone he has changed the way we eat, how we drive our cars and how we raise our children. Not simply influenced mind you, but actually changed those things. Think about that for a minute...............................

All of that and so much more he's accomplished and I still haven't found out just where he hangs his hat at any given time. He's all over the place and pops up seemingly at will and random. Usually he brings change small or large to our daily lives. On top of that, once he's changed something, it almost never goes back to the way it was.

I think you can begin to see why I want to meet this guy. Why does he do all of these things? Just who does he think he is? When I find him maybe I can understand why he uses his power so much and how he got all that power in the first place. So much power in the hands of one person is kind of scary. I want to know if it is actually a conspiracy or quite another thing entirely. For the time being we all live under his rule. And we're supposed to be an example of individual freedom to the rest of the world. I do think I may be closing in though.

Finding America's most important person

Talk about elusive! This important guy I'm looking for moves so fast from one place to another, so fast and yet manages to affect almost every facet of our lives here in the good old U.S. of A. Only a couple of weeks ago he popped up in Arizona, then disappeared without a trace as fast as the wink of an eye. He did have his say though and some people were humbles by it, maybe even humiliated but I'm not sure, that's a personal thing isn't it. His influence was unmistakable even in seeming failure.

How can he move around so fast and still get the job done? It's like he can be in several places at the same time. Confusing to say the least. This week he's been in Michigan but I haven't gotten a clear understanding of exactly what he's up to. He mostly does his thing behind closed doors before we find out for sure what happens next. It's like this conspiracy stuff I read and hear about. But then again, most people don't believe in conspiracy theories. I'm just trying to find the guy. As I said, it's all a riddle to me but I shall persist in my quest.

America's most powerful person

I've been reading and hearing about the most powerful person in America. It seems that he can do just about anything. He's got a bunch of friends too. When they get together it's supposed to be an awesome thing to behold. My curiosity is running overtime because I can't find his picture or any background on him. I don't have his last name. You'd think that with all the freedom of information stuff we have I could find just about all I needed to know. I'm going to keep trying. From what I hear, he runs practically the entire country from behind the scenes. Frustrating as it is, my search for him is turning into quite the riddle for me. As you probably already know, I love a good riddle! I'll let you know how it goes. I'm looking for a possible conspiracy here..............Joe

Doing a good thing. Why do it in the first place?

I had the privelage of meeting and speaking with a group of young, high school and college guys a few days ago. What a great time it was for me. Listening to people talk about their future and how they will set about changing the world for the better. Some are going to envent something, some are going to improve something, some are going to find a new way to use something, some are going to use old ways to use something new. All of them were set on accomplishing something for the greater good. Most of them were doing it for a similar reason: Making the world a better place for all of us. Of course, a couple simply wanted to make some money or become a super star and get their faces spread across the papers, Tv and the internet but they were in the minority.

I was reminded of the wisdom that has come down through the ages: Doing good should be done for it's own sake. Doing good should be done anonomously if possible without seeking notoriety for it. That's the plan but it's not always easy to do, staying out of the public eye that is. Mother Teresa did a lot of good but wound up recieving a huge reward for it, which she turned over to charity. Ghandi turned down everything to accomplish monumental good. The stories go on and on. The reasons for doing good are as varied as the people who have done it. But what about the rest of us? The ones who will never accomolish some great deed? What is there to inspire us to do good? I've been told that doing good is the beginning and the end combined. Doing good should be done because it's the right thing to do, not because someone else is going to notice. Doing good is fulfilling our own destiny.

Sometimes we do good and absolutely no one else will ever know. Sometimes we do a simple good deed and we get accolades and huge rewards. Does the good change because of the acknowledgement it recieves? The simple answer is, NO!

This group of young guys talked about their reasons for accomplishing good and except for the two who aspired to do things just to get rich agreed to the basic principle of doing good for it's own sake. Even if they were to be humiliated and persecuted for what they believed to be a good thing: Do it anyway! Made me feel kind of good. The world is passing into good hands. At least in this group it is. Just thought I'd pass that on. .......................Joe.........Have a "good" day, eh?

Writing, which words to use?

The writing of "Joe's Story: The Book of a Lifetime" and becoming a published author took a long time. From beginning to end it was a fantastic learning experience for me. The story itself was already in my head of course, but the way of putting it on paper was really muddled. The horrors of the Carbon Monoxide poisoning and resulting near death and amnesia experience were kind of tough to deal with again. Recording it in book form became a wonderful tonic though and brought me more completely into the world so many others may take for granted.

I am quite intelligent but my many areas of expertise didn't include the rules of composition, writing and journalism. Much to my eventual dismay. As a matter of fact, my ignorance and resistance to commonly accepted rules of writing may very well have been my undoing as far as getting on the best seller list of published books. Following rules is not necessarily a guarantee to writing success but it has been my experience that it definitely does help. As an example, every professional reviewer, except one, that has received Joe's Story for an opinion has refused to go past the first few pages. If they were professional enough to give me a response, (most are actually very rude and far to aloof to offer any reply whatsoever) they simply said they were not interested in that type of story. What a loss, they had a wonderful, true, funny and heart warming, memorable story in their hands and they passed it up. Their loss but I learned not to take it personally, it was my choice not to follow the rules.

Things that still evade my understanding will always haunt me I guess. its and it's, either and neither, friends or freinds, affect or effect, just where to put a : or a ; , climbed or clumb, you know, stuff like that. The questions of this weekend are naturally save or saved, thief or angel, heaven or hell. I wonder how I could write about them? It's already been done though anyway, I'll just leave it at that....Happy Easter1
